What is a Core Deposit?

The term Core simply refers to the old part that is being replaced. In order to offer remanufactured parts, we must have the old parts returned to us. Think of them as the raw materials.

In order to ensure that customers return the old units, we attach a core deposit to the sale of remanufactured goods. We do not want to keep your core deposit and will gladly accept the core back as long as the following conditions are met.

Core Return Policy and Requirements

  • Cores must be returned:
    • Unbroken - no broken housings
    • Assembled - units must not be taken apart
    • Complete - no missing gears, solenoids or other parts
    • No excessive corrosion - units that are eaten up with rust, corrosion or battery acid cannot be remanufactured.
  • Cores must be identical to the remanufactured part purchased.
  • Core credit will be reduced at our discretion for cores returned with with any of the above conditions.
  • Cores must be returned in the box in which the replacement part was delivered.
  • Cores returns are the responsibility of the customer. Stockers Starters will not refund shipping costs for cores returned
  • Cores must be returned within 30 days from the date of the original invoice.
  • Upon receipt and inspection, core credit will be issued for the applicable core value.

How do I return a core?

Carefully pack the old unit in the box in which the replacement arrived. Inlude a copy of the invoice. You may use the shipping company of your choice. We recommend you insure it for the amount of the core deposit. Sent cores to:
